The extensive congress programme at this year's Achema focuses on the topics of hydrogen, sustainability, the circular economy and digitalization

ACHEMA 2024, the process industry trade fair for chemical engineering, process technology and biotechnology, will take place in Frankfurt from June 10 to 14. ACHEMA 2022 had already presented the lectures of the congress program on stages in the exhibition halls. The feedback was positive. The concept will therefore be continued this year. Visitors can expect more than 750 presentations in total.

Science and industry in dialog

"Science and industry in dialog has always been DECHEMA's credo. And since the last ACHEMA, this has also been the practice in the lecture and congress program. The success proves us right: With more than 20,000 listeners, the number of visitors in 2022 was significantly higher than at ACHEMA 2018, which had more participants overall," says Dr. Andreas Förster, Executive Director of DECHEMA e.V. and thus organizer of ACHEMA.

From process industry to digitalization

The congress programme focuses on the following topics: hydrogen, sustainability, circular economy and digitalization:

  • Process Innovation: Hall 9.0 will focus on topics such as the electrification, flexibilization and biotechnologization of chemical processes. Also included are contributions on smart digital technologies in plant construction and operation
  • Pharma Innovation: In Hall 4.1, the focus is on biopharmaceutical production in addition to topics relating to pharmaceutical production and packaging.
  • Lab Innovation: The contributions in Hall 12.0 deal with the interfaces between the laboratory and the technologies used in engineering and production. In addition, ACHEMA 2024 will feature an action area on the digitalized, miniaturized and automated laboratory of the future.
  • Green Innovation: The challenge of climate-neutral production in the process industry, circular economy, the integration of molecular and industrial biotechnology, sustainable innovations and investments - these are the topics that will be the focus of the stage in Hall 6.0.
  • Digital Innovation: The stage in Hall 11.0 will provide a comprehensive, practical overview of key digital trends and their use in the process industry.
  • Hydrogen Innovation: In Hall 6.0, speakers will present the milestones of the hydrogen economy to date as well as future challenges. The special hydrogen show and numerous other exhibitors flank the topic.
