SurfaceTechnology Germany - the trade fair for surface technology

The major B2B trade fair for surface technology from electroplating to plasma surface technology

SurfaceTechnology Germany takes place every two years at the trade fair grounds in Stuttgart and covers a very broad spectrum of surface technology and coating processes. The exhibitors come from a wide variety of sectors, from electroplating to plasma surface technology and hot-dip galvanizing to sol-gel coatings. In terms of the history of the trade fair, there is a focus on electroplating technology.

During the three days of the trade fair, new products in the field of plant technology, new coating processes and the associated chemicals will be presented, as well as services in the field of contract coating, quality control and process consulting. In the field of electroplating technology and pre-treatment, specialist companies, i.e. manufacturers of process chemicals, will be showcasing further developments and improvements to their processes, baths and electrolytes in Stuttgart. Future technologies and future topics such as digitalization also play a central role.

Target group of SurfaceTechnology Germany

As a B2B trade fair, SurfaceTechnology Germany brings together experts from suppliers of plant and process technology with decision-makers on the user side in the Stuttgart exhibition halls, including managing directors, department and project managers, engineers, skilled workers and plant managers, depending on the size of the company.

SurfaceTechnology Germany - an eventful history

The origins of SurfaceTechnology Germany lie firstly in the Galvanica trade fair, which, as the name suggests, focused on electroplating technology. A second root lies in OFT - the international trade fair for painting and powder coating. In 2008, the two events merged to form the O&S trade fair format, the full name of which is "Surfaces and Coatings", which celebrated its premiere in the new Stuttgart exhibition halls with around 280 exhibitors. For many years, an exhibition called "Surface Technology" was held at staggered intervals in odd-numbered years during the Hannover Messe. In 2018, Deutsche Messe merged the two exhibition formats by name and O&S became SurfaceTechnology Germany in 2018. In order to exploit synergy effects, parts2clean was held in parallel with O&S and later SurfaceTechnology from 2014 to 2018.
