The Technische Berufskolleg Solingen (TBK) is opening its doors to visitors on November 15. Among other things, the TBK offers the surface coater (m/f/d) training course.

On November 15, 2024 from 12:00 to 15:30, the TBK in Solingen is holding an open day. The new electroplating center will also be on display. The new building was officially opened on September 27, 2024, the annual Electroplating Day.

State-of-the-art training location for surface coaters

The TBK invested 18 million euros in the construction of the new technical center and the renovation of the training and laboratory building. 5.65 million euros were invested in the technical center alone, which is at the heart of the electroplating center. This makes the TBK one of the most modern training locations in surface technology. Here, prospective surface coaters will find state-of-the-art equipment and the best conditions for learning their profession.

143 trainees from 87 companies

In addition to further and advanced training courses, it is primarily surface coaters and electroplaters from the federal states north of the Main that are trained here. There are currently 143 trainees from 87 companies. The training content is not only taught in theory, but is also deepened in the new chemistry/analytics laboratory and finally put into practice in the new electroplating shop. The electroplating center also hosts master craftsman examinations as well as Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Chamber of Crafts examinations. This close integration of training and further education with the companies means that the entire industry benefits from the training center.
