Even with individual retrofits, Kemper customers save money. For welding, for example, an existing exhaust air set can be converted into a recirculation unit with the mechanical WallMaster filter. This means that with the help of the retrofit, the heated shop air can be returned to the room in a purified state. An exhaust arm with 1,000 cbm/h causes an energy loss of approximately 4,100 kWh per heating period (October 15 to April 15) in exhaust air mode. This energy loss can be prevented by retrofitting from exhaust air to recirculated air. This corresponds to a saving of about 375 liters of heating oil or 406 cubic meters of natural gas L per exhaust arm.
Further savings are achieved when central extraction systems for welding fumes are converted from continuous operation to automatic extraction power regulation. This conversion is achieved with the aid of a frequency converter and an intelligent control system. This permanently adjusts the motor speed of the fan and thus the power consumption to the current demand. Reducing the motor speed by 20 percent, for example, reduces power consumption and thus energy consumption by almost 50 percent.
