The fact that things are once again looking rather bleak is not only due to the unpredictable global circumstances, but also to the fact that there are no confidence-inspiring signals coming from the political arena to suggest that there is a plausible plan to at least not make life even more difficult for businesses in Germany. But the most important man in Berlin apparently cannot see it as a negative indicator for current economic policy and, in the long term, for Germany's future, when 30 percent of investment capital flows out of Germany. It is remarkable that as much as 25 percent of this does not even remain in the EU. In the economy, those responsible have to base their decisions on competition - and many of the decisions taken and future plans of the EU and the EU Commission do not exactly make investment attractive.
Nevertheless, problem phases are in a way part of the natural cycle of economic development. However, this does not change the fact that if the right people are sitting at the wrong levers, they literally have it in their hands to turn medium-sized problems into really unpleasant ones.
But entrepreneurs are usually hard to discourage and certainly don't back down for comfort. Every technological advance, every good employee and every good idea for process improvement can be the decisive factor in economically challenging times to pave the way to the future and to a better time.
