Association Alliance Electronics criticises Government plans to reduce bureaucracy as inadequate

The Alliance of Electronics Associations welcomes the immediate action program "Responsibility for Germany" presented by the German government as a fundamentally correct step towards strengthening the industrial base in Germany. In particular, the Alliance recognizes the objective of facilitating investment in strategically relevant sectors and securing Europe's technical sovereignty. It is encouraging that the EU has also recognized the urgency of simplifying and harmonizing processes in its current strategy paper.

Criticism of the implementation of bureaucracy reduction

The alliance of associations is critical of the design of the bureaucracy reduction measures proposed by the German government. "The announced reductions remain too vague and do not address the structural causes of excessive bureaucracy," reads the corresponding press release.

Demands of the electronics association alliance

Many electronics companies despair at the months-long waiting times for construction, export or environmental permits. The Alliance is therefore calling for binding statutory processing deadlines with clear legal consequences if these are exceeded. Whether REACH, RoHS, supply chain due diligence obligations or energy reports - companies have to submit countless data to various bodies. The Alliance advocates a central, digital interface ("one-stop reporting") and harmonization of requirements at EU and federal level.

Elimination of duplicate reporting

Many obligations overlap in terms of content or have to be fulfilled multiple times. What is needed here is a comprehensive inventory and a targeted reduction of outdated requirements. Many regulations make no difference between a globally active group and a medium-sized electronics manufacturer with 80 employees. Allianz is therefore calling for threshold values that are based on the actual capacity of small and medium-sized companies. Last but not least, regulations should in future be subjected to a practical check by affected industry representatives before they are introduced.

Willingness to engage in dialog

The appeal to reduce bureaucracy that preceded the announcement was supported by 100 SMEs. The Electronics Alliance of Associations expressly signals its willingness to play a constructive role in the further work on implementing the immediate action program.
