The materials expert Alleima has a high level of expertise in Nitinol, an elastic, fatigue-resistant material. Alleima also offers barrel and rack electroplating of wire and micro parts for medical technology.

Alleima, a member of the IVAM Microtechnology Association, has expertise in processing the intelligent material Nitinol, an alloy that is very attractive for the medical technology industry due to its special properties such as shape memory, superelasticity, biocompatibility and fatigue resistance. At the Karlsruhe site, nitinol expert Dr. Bernd Vogel and his team develop and manufacture nitinol instruments and implants for minimally invasive surgery. Due to its specific properties, Nitinol will also play a key role in the surgical robots of the future, according to the manufacturer.

Electroplating of wire and micro parts

Alleima offers the electroplating of wire and micro parts as a service. This is also a suitable process for products in the medical technology sector. By applying one or more metal coatings, material properties such as electrical properties, acid resistance, biocompatibility or aesthetic appearance can be improved depending on requirements. Electroplating is a cost-effective way of applying a thin metal layer to a component made from another material. Alleima offers barrel and rack electroplating for components as well as reel-to-reel electroplating of wire.
