The "Fügen im Handwerk" (Joining technology in the craft) Innovation Award is presented every two years. The jury is made up of members of the "Crafts/DVS" coordination group. Craft enterprises that have rendered outstanding services to innovation transfer and personnel development in joining technology can be nominated until March 31, 2023. Chambers of skilled crafts, trade associations and guilds of skilled crafts as well as educational institutions of DVS can nominate corresponding skilled crafts companies. "Joining techniques play an important role in many trades: in the metal trades through the SHK sector to dental technology. With our Innovation Award, we want to underline the importance of these highly complex processes for the skilled trades and draw attention to the importance of the skilled trades for the transfer of innovation," says ZDH President Hans Peter Wollseifer on the objective of the award. DVS President Susanne Szczesny-Oßing adds: "The skilled trades are a very important partner for us. Many of the innovations that become marketable in joining technology originate in the skilled trades."
