The steel and metal processors are appealing to politicians. Their aim: to persuade politicians to rethink. Their demands: Reduce energy costs, taxes and red tape, stop the shortage of skilled workers, renovate infrastructure.

"We. Shape. Progress." is the motto of the campaign launched by the German Steel and Metal Processing Association (WSM) together with 13 industry associations. With a cross-media approach, it aims to give the 5,000 companies a common voice. The common goal is to persuade politicians to rethink and to bring Germany back to the forefront as an industrial location.

"We need a sustainable industrial strategy that takes into account the fact that steel and metal processors are cornerstones of transformation, climate protection and prosperity. Politicians must not drive them out of the country with disproportionate energy costs and taxes, excessive bureaucracy, excessive requirements and dilapidated infrastructures," says WSM Managing Director Christian Vietmeyer. All information on the campaign can be found on the website wir-formen-fortschritt.de.
