The workshop will focus on the next generation of large-scale experiments to be carried out over the next decade. The success of the projects is highly dependent on vacuum and cryogenic technology. For thorough planning, it is important to work out the requirements of the projects as well as the market availability of important products. The APPEC Technology Forum is organized with the International Union of Vacuum Societies (IUVSTA), national vacuum societies from the Netherlands and Germany, Maastricht University, NIKHEF and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) to identify synergies between projects in related fields. It provides a discussion forum for companies, project scientists and funding organizations.
The program starts on November 24, 2025 at 12:30 pm and includes plenary talks by project scientists, a poster session, an industry exhibition with short oral presentation rounds of the companies as well as panel discussions between experts from industry and physics projects. Six of the invited plenary speakers have given a short introduction to their topic in a webinar available on Youtube.
Full registration is open for regular participants, exhibitors and sponsors from industry as well as for poster abstracts. The organizers especially encourage students and young scientists to submit an abstract for a poster on vacuum and cryogenic related topics of their project.
At the end of the conference, the organizers will offer a visit to ET-Pathfinder, a research and development facility for the development and testing of technologies for the next generation gravitational wave observatory in Europe, the Einstein Telescope.
