There will be a change at the top of the BMW Group plant in Regensburg next spring. Plant manager Frank Bachmann (60) will retire on March 31, 2022. His successor will be 54-year-old Carsten Regent. Regent currently heads the BMW Group's Digital Purchasing and Supplier Network. Frank Bachmann had managed the British MINI plant in Oxford and the Swindon site for many years before taking over from Manfred Erlacher for the Regensburg and Wackersdorf sites in June 2019.
Carsten Regent, who holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering, has been with the BMW Group since 1998 and brings with him extensive experience, including international experience, in production, quality management, development and purchasing. He is currently responsible for purchasing IT infrastructure and digital vehicle components required for driver assistance systems, the vehicle electrical system, control units and communication technology.
