For the first time, the Association for the Surface Finishing of Aluminium (VOA) is offering a laboratory workshop for anodizers. This will take place in Schwäbisch Gmünd in September.

With the new laboratory workshop for anodizers, the Association for the Surface Finishing of Aluminium (VOA) is responding to a frequently expressed request from the surface finishing industry. The laboratory workshop is aimed at employees in the laboratory and in production. The event will take place in cooperation with the fem Forschungsinstitut in Schwäbisch Gmünd from 16 to 17 September 2024. Registrations are still possible at short notice until August 6 at www.voa.de

Practical work takes center stage

In addition to an introduction to the anodization process as a whole, the workshop will focus on working in groups. The maximum of 24 participants will work in three groups. First, the pre-treatment and anodization process as well as the dyeing and densification process will be discussed. The laboratory tests and measurements required for these work steps are then carried out in practice under professional guidance.

Supplemented by further topics

Other topics are also on the agenda, such as the recovery of hydrogen from the anodizing process or photocatalytic anodizing layers to reduce air pollution with nitrogen oxides.
