UV Days 2025 focused on the latest developments in UV and LED technology, with practical live demonstrations and presentations covering technological and economic developments along the entire process chain. In addition to the company's own innovations, 44 exhibitors from application specialists and suppliers of printing machines to inks, coatings and varnishes used the UV Days for a personal dialog with interested parties. IST Metz showed important new technologies in live demonstrations, for example the SMARTcure technology. The system uses AI and a cloud connection to determine the exact UV dose required depending on the ink data. The dryer then adjusts its output as required, saving either time or energy. FREEcure was also shown live. This is a UV lamp with a significantly increased UV-C output, which makes it possible to reduce the use of photoinitiators to a minimum or even make them completely superfluous. This technology is particularly suitable for production with low-migration inks for sensitive products and packaging.
UV LED modules - from the beginnings to today
There was also an exciting stand where the development of UV LED modules was shown and visitors were able to follow the impressive increase in performance from the beginnings to the present day.
Keynote speeches by renowned industry experts also provided in-depth know-how. With current topics relating to sustainable UV and LED technology, process optimization and future-oriented applications, they provided food for thought and showed practical solutions for a wide range of printing applications and industrial requirements.
"At a time when artificial intelligence is redefining many industrial standards, the added value of personal encounters at face-to-face events remains essential," summarizes Managing Director Tim Sterbak. "Particularly in highly specialized markets such as UV technology, decisive impulses are generated through direct exchange. At this year's UV Days, we successfully combined this strength with AI-driven innovations. We are delighted with the lively interest and the consistently positive feedback - this motivates us to continue developing UV Days as a permanent industry event in the future."
