The focus of UV Days 2023, for which around 1,000 participants from 89 countries had registered in advance, was the technical inauguration of the LED LAB and the new UV Technology Campus, which will serve as a research and knowledge platform in the future. Customer visits, training courses as well as laboratory tests will take place here after completion of the construction. Visitors were able to gain practical impressions of excimer technology in live demonstrations and a guided tour at the subsidiary eta plus.
The very good curing properties of inks and coatings under UV light were discovered as early as the late 1960s. In 1977 the today's IST Metz GmbH & Co KG. The first UV systems were developed for curing lacquers on furniture. While the niche business developed into a globally active group of companies over the decades, industrial applications are again an important market segment for IST Metz today.
