Adler is launching Aquawood Dura, a hard and scratch-resistant lacquer for doors. Every day, doors are touched, bumped with shoulders, kicked with feet and maltreated with sharp-edged keys. "We have therefore developed a special coating that is as easy and uncomplicated to apply as a window lacquer, but guarantees a significantly more robust surface," says Richard Mölk, Head of the Window Industry Division at Adler.
Not a 2K system
Aquawood Protor is another varnish from Adler that is characterized by hardness and scratch resistance combined with high elasticity and durability. However, the processing of the 2K system puts some users off. "Some manufacturers don't want to process a 2K system like Aquawood Protor. For example, because the system does not allow it, they are afraid of handling the hardener or have concerns about the restrictions due to the pot life," says Mölk.
Intermediate coating with Aquawood Dura-Base
The researchers in the Adler laboratory have therefore developed the Aquawood Dura system: The one-component intermediate coating Aquawood Dura-Base ensures good wet adhesion, fullness, insulating effect, block resistance and sandability. The Aquawood Dura-Finish top coat ensures high mechanical and, above all, chemical resistance, increased slip resistance and an attractive appearance. Aquawood Dura can be used to create both opaque and glazed surfaces.
