Together, the two companies Tribicon and Schrubstock succeeded in converting the Schrubstock chromium-plating plant from a chromium(VI) to a chromium(III) process and generated subsidies.

For reasons of resource and cost savings, Robert Schrubstock GmbH & Co. KG is chemically converting a chromium-plating plant from a chromium(VI) to a chromium(III) process. Schrubstock received successful support in its search for possible subsidies from another ZVO member, Tribicon GmbH, Engineering company for technical energy services from Wuppertal.

The savings in electricity and chemicals resulting from the conversion lead to aCO2 reduction of 31.85 t/a in the process and form the basis for eligibility for subsidies amounting to 900 Euro/t CO2. The investment of Robert Schrubstock GmbH & Co. KG amounting to 100,000 Euro is subsidized by the German Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (Bafa) with a total of 28,665 Euro. For further information and advice regarding possible subsidies, please contact Frank Fischer at Tribicon GmbH.
