Nearly half of all plastics production comprises the thermoplastics polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). These lightweight and robust plastics are formed into molded parts, films or fibers and processed as components. They and the solid thermoplastic POM, which is mainly used to manufacture precision parts, are relatively difficult to bond due to their non-polar surface and the associated poor wettability.
Ruderer Klebtechnik GmbH meets this challenge with state-of-the-art adhesive solutions. For bonding PE, PP and POM to each other and to other materials, the company's own premium brand Technicoll supplies adhesives that ensure high-strength structural bonds in industry and commerce. They are based on 2K technology, solventborne contact adhesives and hot melt systems. Complex and cost-intensive physical surface activation technologies such as plasma or corona systems are not necessary here, so users save time, costs and resources when bonding PE, PP and POM.
