The SKZ Plastics Center tests the properties of adhesive tapes for customers in terms of their adhesive strength and tear resistance. A wide variety of surfaces are realistically simulated for this purpose.

Adhesive tapes must meet the required standards and ensure reliable adhesion to various surfaces. The SKZ Plastics Center is accredited to carry out various tests and load requirements on adhesive tapes. "Our aim is to use our expertise and range of services to help manufacturing companies improve the quality and application properties of adhesive tapes with specialized testing services," says Alexander Ebenbeck, Sales Manager Testing at the SKZ.

High product quality and performance

Adhesive tapes are important for the packaging industry, automotive industry and electronics production. Manufacturers must ensure that their adhesive tapes meet the required standards and guarantee reliable adhesion to various surfaces. The SKZ is therefore guided by the DIN EN ISO 29862 standard, which provides a detailed description for determining the adhesive strength of adhesive tapes. Furthermore, the standard describes the interaction of adhesive partner and adhesive tape on different substrates/surfaces, so that the surface relevant to the application can be simulated and tested. The SKZ also offers testing in accordance with American ASTM standards such as ASTM D 3330.
