In the Harz Mountains, at the foot of the Brocken, the exclusive Ottilienruh vacation home park was built on a 17,700 m² site. The design of the wooden surfaces of the five vacation homes had to ensure that they looked well-maintained and inviting despite heavy use. Mark Stenzel from the painting company Maler GmbH Voigt in Wernigerode opted for the impact-resistant interior wall paint Alpha Rezisto Anti-Marks and the water-thinnable glaze Cetol BL Natural Mat. A total of around 6,000 m² of wall and wood surfaces were coated with Sikkens products.
Impact-resistant surfaces
Alpha Rezisto Anti-Marks is often used in hotels and vacation apartments and houses. The paint creates an impact-resistant surface and is much smoother on a microscopic level thanks to Scuff Shield Technology. This reduces the impact energy of suitcases and bags, for example. The materials glide off the surface, significantly reducing the risk of scratch marks and the notorious writing effect with dark colors. The testing institute iLF Magdeburg GmbH has confirmed the protective effect. Thanks to opacity class 2 and wet abrasion class 1, the surface can be easily cleaned with a damp microfiber cloth. Alpha Rezisto Anti-Marks is also economical to use: one 12.5 liter container is sufficient for over 110 m² of surface.
Permanently protect surfaces
The woodwork in the vacation homes was coated with Cetol BL Natural Mat glaze. This extremely matt, water-based glaze protects the wood permanently and sustainably. Nutri Protect Technology ensures that the stain penetrates deep into the wood and strengthens it from the inside out. In addition, the coating moves and expands with the wood so that it does not crack or flake off. Cetol BL Natural Mat is also resistant to harmful weather influences and protects the wood from sun fading and moisture damage.
