Walther Trowal has equipped the Rotamat R 85 with a mass flow sensor for the coating material. This provides exact measurement data for precise control of the volume flow, accurate to the tenth of a gram per minute. In contrast to previous systems, the controlled variable is no longer the pressure in the supply air lines to the spray heads, but the flow rate of the coating material.
The pressure is controlled as a function of the measurement results of the new sensor in such a way that a constant volume flow results at all times, the company reports. This ensures that the coating process is always carried out with the specified amount of coating and that the desired coating thickness is maintained precisely and reproducibly. Another positive aspect: thanks to the new control system, faults can be detected immediately and thus rectified promptly.
