Pro-beam's subsidiary Electron Beam Technology Suzhou has a contractual interest in the new company. Pro-beam Suzhou has already been represented in China since 2005. The joint venture is intended to further expand the company's market presence and to take even greater account of the needs of Chinese customers for electron beam systems.
The joint venture builds on the respective strengths of Pro-beam and Guilin Shida Technology, is intended to exploit synergies and combine the expertise of the two partners. "Pro-beam is providing the company with its know-how and technology on the electron beam welding process. Specifically, this includes the high-performance 60, 80 and 150 kilovolt generators as well as related plant equipment," says Dr. Thorsten Löwer, Managing Director at the Pro-beam Group. In addition to its market knowledge, the Chinese partner contributes its expertise in the construction of electron beam systems and supplies system chambers in sizes ranging from 0.1 m³ to 300 m³.
