Representatives of the British coatings industry presented Andy Doyle, President and CEO of the American Coatings Association, with the silver medal on May 23. "I am very honored to receive this recognition from the BCF," says Andy Doyle. The BCF Silver Medal recognizes individuals who have made major contributions to the growth and reputation of the paint, coatings, inks and wallcoverings industry. "Andy epitomizes the commitment to the industry for which the Silver Medal was developed," commented Tom Bowtell, Chief Executive of the British Coatings Federation.
Founding of the World Coatings Council
Doyle was instrumental in founding the World Coatings Council in 1992. He later became President of the World Coatings Council. Doyle was also involved with the BCF, consolidating the BCF's representation on the European stage on the board of the CEPE (European Council of the Paint, Printing Ink and Artists' Colours Industry). Doyle also made a valuable contribution to the research and establishment of PaintCare, an initiative to develop closed-loop systems.
Close cooperation between BCF and ACA
The BCF's relationship with the American Coatings Association is close, both within and outside the European Union. "I have always felt that our two organizations have a special relationship. The BCF is an exceptional association," said Doyle. The medal was presented to Andy Doyle by Peter Rieck, former BCF President and silver medal winner.
