Plasmatreat showcases new processes at Euroguss 2026

At Euroguss 2026, Plasmatreat will be demonstrating how atmospheric plasma technologies prepare metal surfaces for coating, sealing, bonding and printing - with a focus on ultra-fine cleaning, corrosion protection and inline process capability.

From January 13 to 15, 2026, Plasmatreat will be presenting various processes for the pretreatment of metallic components in Nuremberg. The focus will be on solutions that prepare metal surfaces for downstream process steps in a stable and reproducible manner. These include open-air plasma for chemical-free cleaning, the new HydroPlasma process for removing organic and inorganic residues and PlasmaPlus coatings for functional surface layers.

HydroPlasma: low-residue cleaning without additional chemicals

HydroPlasma combines the physical effect of atmospheric pressure plasma with ionized water. The resulting reactive species dissolve various contaminants and convert them into soluble or gaseous components. At the trade fair stand, the PTU cell type 1212 will demonstrate how components can be cleaned directly in the process. The approach is aimed in particular at applications in which conventional wet-chemical processes reach their limits.

Live demonstrations: Ultra-fine cleaning and analytics

Aluminum and magnesium samples will be treated at a demonstration table. Visitors can observe how plasma cleaning improves wetting and adhesion. Plasmatreat will also be demonstrating methods for verifying plasma treatment, including a test fluid for rapid evaluation of the anti-corrosion coating. This enables visual and evaluable results within a short time and facilitates process control.

Open-air plasma: chemical-free alternative to wet cleaning

Release agents, cutting oils and drawing greases often complicate the further processing of metallic components. Openair plasma removes such organic residues using only compressed air and electrical energy. The technology works selectively, inline-capable and without additional cleaning media - an advantage for resource-saving and stable process chains.

PlasmaPlus AntiCorr: selective corrosion protection

Plasmatreat relies on PlasmaPlus to build up functional layers. By adding a precursor, an ultra-thin coating is created that takes on different tasks depending on the formulation. The AntiCorr variant serves as a barrier against infiltration corrosion, for example under seals in housings and electronic assemblies. The selective inline application reduces material consumption, logistics and process costs.
