Plasmatreat supplies plasma pretreatment for demanding materials

Pretreatment with plasma significantly improves the adhesion of printing inks to different surfaces. Plasmatreat GmbH has numerous applications for printing on demanding substrates such as plastic, metal or glass in its portfolio.

The Openair Plasma and PlasmaPlus technologies developed by Plasmatreat enable VOC-free pretreatment of various demanding substrates prior to printing. Openair plasma pretreatment can be used to increase the surface energy of the substrate and significantly improve wettability. This increases adhesion so that the printing inks adhere for a long time and are resistant to abrasion. This enables companies to use digital printing with UV-curing systems, for example.

The pretreatment can be used selectively so that a wide variety of plastic products can be printed with high quality and long-term durability. Openair plasma is also the solution for recycled plastics, which are more difficult to print on due to their lower grade purity. PlasmaPlus plasma technology, on the other hand, protects the printing of metal and glass against changing temperatures and other environmental influences. For this purpose, the ultra-thin PlasmaPlus coating PT-Print is applied to the surface immediately before printing. It eliminates the need for chemical pretreatment or further priming of the substrate.
