According to its recently prepared carbon footprint, the electroplating company is on the way towards climate neutrality. The certificate from Ecocockpit shows the ecological footprint at the Hagen production site.

"Avoid, reduce and compensate" is the goal of the medium-sized electroplating company, which galvanizes, pickles, passivates, deburrs and coats a wide variety of workpieces. The company drew up its CO2 balance sheet with the support of zeero, the Center for Energy, Efficiency and Resource Optimization of the Ennepe-Ruhr GmbH business development agency. All direct and indirect CO2 emissions were scrutinized for this purpose, from Scope 1 to 3. Initially for the Hagen production site - further investigations into processes and products are to follow.

"We wanted to know where we stand today and what we can do. At our scale, a carbon footprint is not mandatory, but it still makes a lot of sense," says OTH Managing Director Gensowski. "Based on the data we now have, we can take efficient measures in the future to reduce emissions in a targeted manner and compensate for any that remain.
