With Elpecast VU 4545/101, Peters has a potting compound in its product portfolio that protects sensitive electronic components from overheating. It is characterized by particularly high thermal conductivity.

The high thermal conductivity of the new potting compound from Lackwerke Peters GmbH makes it suitable for applications where efficient heat dissipation is crucial. These include, for example, electronics and sensor technology as well as lighting electronics. "At 1.7 W/mK, the thermal conductivity value is considerably higher than the standard," says Christoph Münz, a graduate chemist at the Kempen-based paint manufacturer.

Potting compound provides electrical insulation

The two-component casting compound VU 4545/101 provides reliable electrical insulation. In addition, the heat generated in the component is quickly dissipated, thus extending the service life of the component. The maximum temperature of the component can be significantly reduced by a thermally conductive potting compound.

Flow-free and easy to process

The synthetic resin product is also characterized by its good processability and comparatively low flowability. Another important aspect is its UL approval UL 94 V0 according to the highest fire safety class. "The casting compound therefore offers a sensible and cost-effective alternative to silicone products," says Christoph Münz.
