Structalit 5801 is a black 2K epoxy system with a mixing ratio of 2:1 that cures within 12 hours at room temperature. Curing can be accelerated by applying temperature, for example at a moderate 80°C within 30 minutes. This minimizes thermal stress on components and shortens cycle times. The medium-viscosity system adheres very securely to metals and plastics. This makes it particularly suitable for potting applications or housing bonding on common substrates in the electronics and automotive industries.
Structalit cures with low shrinkage behavior and, thanks to adapted elongation at break, exhibits good vibration and shock resistance. In the aging test at temperatures above 130°C, it even gains in adhesion performance. Under the influence of media - such as gear oil, biodiesel and alcohol - the system is only marginally weakened due to the high degree of crosslinking and low water absorption.
