NanoFocus AG becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mahr Group. With this complete takeover, the measurement technology manufacturer Mahr is fully integrating NanoFocus' expertise in the field of optical 3D surface analysis into its corporate structure.
NanoFocus develops and manufactures systems for non-contact measurement and analysis of technical surfaces. The solutions are based on optical methods and are used in semiconductor technology, medical technology, the automotive industry, and research, among other areas. The focus is on high-resolution 3D measurement systems for characterizing roughness, topography, and functional surface structures.
Expansion of the measurement technology portfolio
With this integration, Mahr is expanding its existing portfolio in tactile and optical measurement technology. While Mahr has traditionally been strongly positioned in tactile surface and length measurement technology, NanoFocus complements the offering with optical inline and laboratory solutions for surface analysis.
The bundling of expertise will enable the company to offer customers from industry and research a broader range of measurement methods from a single source. Combined measurement strategies using tactile and optical methods are becoming increasingly important for applications in surface technology, such as coating, microstructuring, and quality assurance.
Continuity in development and customer service
According to the companies, locations, contact persons, and development activities will remain unchanged. The goal is gradual integration into the structures of the Mahr Group while maintaining existing customer relationships.
With the complete takeover, Mahr is further expanding its position in the field of high-resolution surface measurement technology and responding to increasing demands for precision and process control in industrial manufacturing.
