LIGNA 2025 brought the global woodworking and wood processing industry together in Hanover from May 26 to 30. In its 50th anniversary year, the event once again proved to be an important platform for the international woodworking community with 1,433 exhibitors from 49 countries. "LIGNA has impressively demonstrated its unique position as the world's leading trade fair for the industry," said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG.
Digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence
The proportion of trade visitors at LIGNA 2025 was 93 percent, of which 60 percent were visitors in managerial positions and 44 percent were top management. Whether in the forest, in sawmills, in production, in manufacturing or in craft businesses - the exhibitors presented their solutions along the entire value chain to show how current challenges can be tackled. The focus was on digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence, networked production, sustainable and climate-friendly construction with wood and wood-based materials as well as the future-oriented and careful use of wood as a resource.
Connectivity, sustainable production and engineered wood
With its three focus themes of connectivity, sustainable production and engineered wood, LIGNA addressed the areas that urgently need sustainable developments. Numerous clever solutions, ranging from reforestation to the end product, confirm the status of the renewable raw material wood as the building material of the hour.
Supporting program with new formats
The two new formats LIGNA.Circular and LIGNA.TruckStop met with great visitor interest. LIGNA.Circular showcased concepts for the circular economy and sustainable use of materials. The LIGNA.TruckStop invited carpenters, joiners, joiners and craftsmen to discuss the latest power tools for workshops and business management.
