The precise, servo-based control of the GLX-1 allows greater freedom in the design and connection of components with three-dimensional contours. A servo drive ensures precise, repeatable contact pressure control via a closed control loop for low to high force. Pneumatic control via a closed control loop is also possible. This results in short welding cycles that support the production of large quantities and high quality.
Reduced risk of damage
The welding machine joins high-performance and mixed polymers as well as components with critical or complex 3D joint geometries and pre-assembled parts. The weld seams are created without flash or part marking. The risk of damage due to heat or vibrations is low because the GLX-1 uses the simultaneous through-transmission infrared (STTlr) process. The basis for this is provided by high-performance laser modules with configurable power levels of up to a maximum of 250 watts per module. The GLX-1 also reliably and non-destructively separates welded joints in conventional medical devices or wearables. This makes it possible to recover and reuse internal components and thus avoid waste.
Easier tool change
Tool changes are efficient and precise thanks to an operating frequency identification (RFID) function, which recognizes welding programs and assigns them to the correct production tools. The welding machine can be easily connected to the plant's networks and thus fulfills the requirements for the Internet of Things (IIoT) or communication with Data Interface Gateways (DIG) and Fieldbus interface gateways.
