The Garhöfer family is the third generation to run IWG in Markgrafneusiedl, Austria. Company owner Christian Garhöfer has now set up a contract electroplating facility. This makes IWG a full-service provider for electroplating technology.
Three business divisions under one roof
Walter Garhöfer founded the family business in Vienna in 1962 and developed non-precious metal electrolytes. He soon expanded the portfolio to include precious metal electrolytes. In the 1990s, his son Werner Garhöfer succeeded in entering the Asian market.
Complete solutions for electroplating technology
Christian Garhöfer, grandson of the founder, expanded IWG with contract electroplating and founded the IWG Galvano Competence Center with the three divisions Chemicals, Lab Solutions and Plating Service. Only the chemicals developed in-house are used in the fully automated production facility.
Laboratory for rapid analysis
In the laboratories, qualified specialists continuously analyze the bath samples and workpieces. This allows the baths to be adapted to customer requirements. The laboratory technicians use technologies such as autotitration, ICP spectrometry and an FIB-SEM electron microscope to analyze defects.
