Contactless real-time measurement reduces operating costs as it can be applied non-destructively and quickly in the process. The quality of the coating is particularly important for powder coatings. Measuring the coating thickness or uniformity is therefore essential for quality control, especially at critical points. Systems based on the photothermal measuring method open up practical possibilities here, as they are suitable for almost all transparent or semi-transparent coatings on all common substrates.
Short measuring times
Measuring times of around one second also allow direct integration into the production process, even in applications where one hundred percent quality control was previously not possible. New photothermal measuring systems are supplied ex works with the appropriate calibration, which makes the technology much easier to use.
