Monitoring and measuring the thickness of functional coatings in fuel cells is critical to the manufacturing process. The non-contact photothermal method is ideal for these semi- or intransparent coatings. Since the measurement spot diameter can be adjusted, measurements can be taken easily on both flat layers and complex, filigree structures, such as bipolar plates of modern fuel cells.
Measuring times of less than one second per measuring point, the non-destructive measuring method and a compact, lightweight measuring head (64 x 35 x 35 mm) also allow measurements close to production. In-line monitoring or robot arm mounting are easily possible. A turnkey system with measuring chamber is available for at-line and laboratory measurements.
