Quality assurance is one of the core topics of the production process. Non-destructive testing methods, ideally directly in the process, are becoming increasingly popular. Many sources of defects or weak points can already be detected on the basis of the coating thickness. From 22.09. - 22.09.2022, SKZ, service provider for the plastics industry, will give engineers and specialists in Würzburg an overview of the state of the art in non-destructive testing methods for coating thickness measurement and an outlook on the latest research results on this topic.
The course participants will learn about the structure of the individual functional principles and understand the respective functional principle by carrying out practical measurements on various measuring instruments. The respective technical and economic advantages and disadvantages of the various methods, such as radar and terahertz technology, ultrasound methods, thermography or X-ray technology, are explained. In the practical part of the course, test procedures of the mentioned methods are demonstrated. The participants learn to interpret results and to derive process advantages and disadvantages.
