With Truefuze, IBA Powder Coatings is presenting a press-hardened powder coating system at Paint Expo 2026 that, for the first time, provides wood-based materials with a reliable, functional, and design-flexible coating.

At Paint Expo 2026, IBA Powder Coatings will present Truefuze, a new powder coating system for wood-based substrates such as MDF, HDF, plywood, and OSB. The press-cured thermoset system combines classic powder coating with precise press curing, opening up new applications in the surface treatment of wood-based materials.

Coating, curing, and texturing in a single step

With Truefuze, coating, curing, and surface embossing take place simultaneously in less than a minute. The process enables reproducible control of gloss level and feel—from ultra-matt to high-gloss—as well as a wide range of decorative textures. At the same time, the process ensures high stability and consistent surface quality across all colors.

Functional properties for demanding applications

In addition to design, Truefuze offers additional functional properties depending on the formulation. These include antibacterial surfaces in accordance with ISO 22196, food contact compliance in accordance with EU 10/2011, antistatic or electrically conductive versions in accordance with EN 61340, and flame-retardant solutions in accordance with EN 45545-2. The coatings are also characterized by high scratch, chemical, and moisture resistance.

Experience innovations at the trade fair stand

IBA Powder Coatings will be bringing the technology to life at Paint Expo 2026. Among other things, the Iba Colour Box will showcase the creative range of effect and design powders.
