Hoenle introduces new compact LED heads for the bluepoint LED UV curing device

UV technology manufacturer Hoenle has developed new LED heads for its bluepoint LED eco LED UV curing device. These combine higher intensity with more compact dimensions.

With a diameter of 12 mm and a length of around 55 mm—depending on the optics used—Hoenle's new LED heads are ideal for confined installation situations. The design also improves heat dissipation. The components are designed as a drop-in solution and can be connected to existing bluepoint LED eco devices or integrated into common UV curing systems with identical dimensions.

The LED heads achieve intensities of up to 20,000 mW/cm² and are available in wavelengths of 365, 385, and 405 nm. A 90° deflection head is available as an option, enabling irradiation of areas that are difficult to access.

Different optics for different applications

Various optics are available to suit different applications, producing irradiation areas with diameters of approximately 3, 7, 10, or 20 mm. New to the portfolio is a 10 × 2 mm optic that enables homogeneous line irradiation over a length of approximately 10 mm. Typical applications include active alignment and the curing of adhesives and casting compounds, for example in the bonding of optical components, the needle bonding of disposable syringes, the manufacture of glucose sensors, or the fixing of electronic components.

Interface for production systems

The system has an integrated interface for connection to production equipment. An additional signal input ensures that the LEDs can be reliably switched off in accordance with applicable safety guidelines. This is particularly relevant for fully automated production lines.
