After 39 years in management, Hans Hesse will end his operational activities at the lacquer and stain manufacturer Hesse Lignal from Hamm on December 31, 2025. He will remain associated with the family business as a co-partner. The transition marks a planned generational change within the owner family.
Fourth generation takes over responsibility
With effect from the beginning of 2026, Hanna Hesse will take over responsibility on the management board as Co-CEO together with Jens Hesse. She will be responsible for the Supply Chain and Administration divisions. Hanna Hesse has been with the company for 13 years and was most recently Head of Supply Chain. By joining the management board, Hesse Lignal is continuing the family succession in the fourth generation.
Continuity in the family business
Hans Hesse points to his daughter's many years of involvement in the company and her experience in positions of responsibility. Jens Hesse also emphasizes that regulated succession is not a matter of course in family businesses and that this step is a signal of stability and future viability.
Internationally positioned lacquer and stain manufacturer
Hesse GmbH & Co KG was founded in Hamm in 1910 and today operates internationally. In addition to its headquarters, the company has subsidiaries in Belgium, France, the USA, Dubai and Munich. In total, Hesse employs around 450 people. With the change in management, the company structure remains family-run, while the management focuses on continuity in the strategic direction.
