Specialty chemicals group Altana has announced a change in leadership at its largest business unit BYK. Effective October 1, 2023, Dr. Tammo Boinowitz will hand over the global management of the business unit to the former BYK Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Jörg Hinnerwisch, who will also become a member of Altana's Executive Board. Dr. Jörg Hinnerwisch (46) has been BYK's Chief Technology Officer since the beginning of 2020. In this role, he further developed global research and development. In total, he can look back on 16 years of experience in the Altana Group. In 2007, the biochemist holding a doctorate in chemistry started his career in the Corporate Innovation central division.
Also effective October 1, 2023, Dr. Stefan Mößmer (54) will be appointed to the BYK Executive Board with responsibility for Marketing & Commercial. This position will be newly created in order to bundle all customer and market-related activities at this level. Dr. Stefan Mößmer has been with BYK since 2000. After holding various positions in Research & Development, the chemist holding a doctorate in chemistry has been responsible for the Wetting and Dispersing Additives product group since 2006. He was given overall responsibility for product group management in 2010. Since October 2013, he has been responsible for the Coatings Additives business line, sales of which have doubled under his leadership.
