The DIAvent Highflow pressure equalization valve from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies FST GmbH is the result of two years of dedicated research and development work to create a safe and cost-effective solution for the thermal runaway of batteries in electric cars. For this, the company was honored as a finalist during a gala in Detroit (USA). The Automotive News PACE Award recognizes product and process innovations from automotive suppliers each year. It is awarded by an independent panel of technology experts. DIAvent Highflow was developed by Freudenberg engineers to control air pressure fluctuations and emergency degassing inside the battery housing of a battery-powered vehicle during operation. The PACE jury interviewed a total of 31 project teams during virtual plant visits. "We are very honored by this recognition from PACE," said Claus Moehlenkamp, CEO of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies. "This award is for all employees who are consistently working to transform our company from a supplier of seals to a technology and component supplier for e-mobility."
