Leutenegger + Frei AG is expanding its range of services to include an energy assessment for industrial coating processes. The service is aimed at contract and in-house coaters and records energy consumption along the entire paint or powder coating line. This provides a basis for a more transparent assessment of energy use, cost structure, and CO₂ emissions.
Measurement concept for process-related energy data
At the heart of the offering is a combination of measurement hardware and a specially developed software solution. Energy and process data are recorded and evaluated during ongoing production and assigned to individual main consumers such as pretreatment, dryers, or ventilation systems. This provides a differentiated picture of the energy flows within the plant.
In addition to pure data collection, the assessment includes the energy evaluation of individual plant components and the analysis of relevant process parameters. The aim is to identify energy weak points and prioritize measures according to cost and benefit.
From key figures to a roadmap for action
The result is a structured report with key figures, technical recommendations for action, and a roadmap for short- and medium-term measures. These range from operational adjustments to investment decisions, for example in the context of retrofit projects.
Unlike general energy audits, the assessment takes into account specific influencing factors in surface technology, including product mix, batch sizes, capacity utilization, temperature profiles, air volumes, and standby and start-up strategies. Interactions between process stability, coating quality, and energy use are also included in the evaluation.
The company offers optional additional services, including detailed engineering of individual measures, retrofit concepts, and support with implementation and effectiveness monitoring.
