The marking of press fittings places high demands on technology and process reliability. The connecting elements used in industrial hose lines are laser-marked with important information before final assembly - including logo, article number, reference number and production date. However, the material changes significantly during the subsequent hydraulic pressing process, which often makes conventional markings illegible.
Alfotech approached its long-standing partner ACI Laser with this problem. Together, they developed a solution based on the 50-watt DFL Ventus Marker fiber laser system. Large quantities can be processed precisely and quickly in semi-automatic operation in a spacious Professional workstation. Extensive tests in the ACI application laboratory and on site at the customer's premises led to the optimum parameterization of the system. The result: the markings remain clearly visible even after pressing and meet the highest quality standards.
Tailor-made software integration
A central element of the solution is the customized user interface (GUI) in the ACI laser software Magic Mark V3. Order data can be loaded by barcode scan via a direct database connection. Each "order line" in the software corresponds to a pair of parts - precisely matched to the production process at Alfotech. The machining pairing is seamlessly documented, even if the process is paused or stopped by an emergency stop.
Greater efficiency and data security
To prevent data loss, only temporary copies of the marking files are processed. This ensures that original data is not inadvertently overwritten. This security and process logic not only increases efficiency, but also the reliability of production.
With the combined hardware and software solution from ACI Laser, Alfotech has a highly flexible, secure and precise system for laser marking press fittings. Even under extreme mechanical stress, legibility is maintained - a decisive advantage for traceability and quality assurance.
