Ebbinghaus: Duplex coatings for better corrosion protection

At surface specialist Ebbinghaus-Verbund, the duplex coatings are primarily made up of a CDP coating and a powder or wet paint coating. They have high chemical resistance and UV stability.

The duplex coatings from Ebbinghau-Verbund are suitable for use in corrosive environmental conditions, such as salty or chemically contaminated ambient air. The KTL coating applied first serves as a good primer for the subsequent application of the powder or wet paint coating. In addition to the additional passive corrosion protection, these fulfill further requirements such as chemical resistance and UV stability.

Active and passive corrosion protection

In addition to the combinations mentioned above, Ebbinghaus-Verbund also offers a duplex coating consisting of active and passive corrosion protection. Here, the active corrosion protection is first applied to the components using a zinc thermal diffusion process. Then, depending on customer requirements, a CDP, powder or wet paint coating can be applied. The experts at Ebbinghaus also provide support in selecting the right duplex coating for customer components, including tests in the in-house technical center.

Pre-treatment of components also in the program

Ebbinghaus-Verbund also offers several options for the pre-treatment of components. For mechanical pre-treatment, either a chamber or a continuous shot blasting system is available. The continuous blast machine works with a combination of degreasing and blasting, so that wet-chemical pre-cleaning is not necessary. Ebbinghaus-Verbund offers a fully automatic process for paint stripping. Aqueous-high alkaline or soft paint stripping is available here. The latter is particularly suitable for light metals and the removal of old duplex coatings.
