Cleaning differentials by light

Anzeige Cleaning and pre-treatment |

A mechanical engineering company from Ravensburg is developing a laser cleaning system for cleaning rotationally symmetrical components for an automotive manufacturer. Laser cleaning reduces the risk of corrosion. He adapts the system precisely to the end customer's range of components.

Complex components such as differentials usually undergo various processing steps before they are installed. In order to be able to manufacture quickly and economically, subsequent steps - in this case welding - should be taken into account in preparatory process steps such as cleaning. A machine and plant builder adapts his cleaning and welding cell precisely to the component geometry and also cleans the areas to be welded. The processing steps of the system include upstream processes such as laser cleaning and joining, as well as quality assurance processes such as brushing and ultrasonic inspection of the weld seam. The plant's core process is laser welding of a differential housing and a ring gear. A pulsed fiber laser removes the contaminated surfaces or conversion layers (for example phosphate layers) in an economical and environmentally friendly manner. This allows the ring surfaces of the components to be subsequently welded clean.
