Organized this time as a hybrid meeting, the tenth working meeting of the Light Metals Working Group of the DGO took place on May 18 in Frankfurt am Main. Dr. Kathrin Schäuble (Henkel AG, Düsseldorf) reported on various passivations for aluminum materials based on Ti, Zr- or Cr(III), among others, which act as corrosion protection and/or adhesion promoters for adhesive bonds and paint coatings.
Dr. Roy Morgenstern (TU Chemnitz) spoke about research topics in the field of anodic surface technology at the Chair of Materials and Surface Engineering. Dr. Stefan Kölle (Fraunhofer IPA, Stuttgart) presented the Industrie4.0 learning electroplating newly installed at the IPA and associated projects. The next meeting of the Light Metals Working Group will be held on Sept. 26 in Hilden - one day before the start of Aluminium 2022 (Sept. 27-29 in Düsseldorf).
