Daniel Schröder takes over management of VDI-GME

Daniel Schröder has been the new Managing Director of the VDI Materials Engineering Society since September 1. He succeeds Dr. Hans-Jürgen Schäfer.

Schröder has been a member of the VDI Group since 2012 and was responsible for many years in the VDI Knowledge Forum, including project management of the VDI conference "PIAE - Plastics in Automotive Engineering" with more than 1,300 participants. Daniel Schröder has extensive experience in networking science, industry and politics. He specializes in the fields of plastics technology, materials development and automotive engineering.

Establishing VDI-GME as a central platform

"In my new role, I would like to further expand the VDI-GME as a central platform for dialog on current and future challenges in materials technology," he says. A big thank you goes to his predecessor Dr. Hans-Jürgen Schäfer, who shaped and decisively developed the VDI-GME over many years.
