Covestro, a materials company, will showcase sustainable coating solutions at the 2022 American Coatings Show in Indianapolis. The acquisition of the Resins & Functional Materials (RFM) business of the Dutch company Royal DSM in 2021 was a key driver for this year's offering, which significantly strengthens Covestro's efforts in sustainable solutions.
In the future, solutions made from sustainable materials will therefore be an important part of the overall portfolio. Sustainable coatings raw materials represent an attractive growth market that aligns with the company's goal to move to a full circular economy, meeting global demand for materials and coatings while reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Covestro partner Genomatica has succeeded in producing the first major quantities of a plant-derived version of HMDA (Hexamethylenediamine).
