Among the solutions presented at CIIE which use the mass balance method are the low-carbon coatings applied to a wooden structure at Covestro's booth. The coatings, produced by Chinese company Baichuan, are based on Covestro's Desmodur CQ hardener. This contains more than 30 percent biomass according to ISCC PLUS and reduces carbon emissions.
To make mobility smarter and more environmentally friendly, Covestro and HiPhi, the Chinese premium brand for electric vehicles, have deepened their partnership. They signed an agreement at CIIE. According to the agreement, a range of CO2-reduced polycarbonates and coating and adhesive solutions from Covestro will be used in new models from HiPhi to enable new functions and reduce the carbon footprint.
