Count nanoparticles in suspensions precisely with LUMiSpoc from LUM

LUM, an expert in materials testing, has launched LUMiSpoc, a high-resolution single particle analysis system. Similar to a flow cytometer, it measures the particle size distribution and particle concentration of nano- and microparticles in suspensions and emulsions.

Nanoparticles in suspensions can be analyzed with the instrument, which is based on LUM's patented SPLS technology. SPLS technology records scattered light that is scattered by individual nano- and microparticles while a laser beam with a special beam cross-section is transmitted. In this way, insight can be gained into complex nano- and sub-microparticle systems. This makes it possible to design customized particles and dispersions.

Analyzing the size distribution of nanoparticles

The compact LUMiSpocwith high count rateoffers high-precision characterization of individual particles. The device can determine the nanoparticle concentration and the multimodal and polydisperse size distribution of particles with high resolution. It has a large measuring range (particle size and concentration from 40 nm to 8 µm) and is easy to clean. A sample volume of 250 µl is sufficient for analyzing the liquids. The particle sizes can be between 40 nm and 8 µm without the need to change any components on the device.
