The letters 'ICB' of the Innovation Award-winning corrosion protection film stands for Intelligent Corrosion Blocker. The film was developed by the Hann Münden-based company Excor Korrosionsschutz-Technologien und -Produkte GmbH. ICB has now been awarded "Special Mention" in the "Excellence in Business to Business" category of the German Innovation Award. The jury of the award consisted of independent experts from various fields, who evaluated the level of innovation, user benefits and economic efficiency.
The novel film offers added value for users and the environment because it detects moisture and releases the corrosion protection only when it is needed. At the same time, the corrosion protection effect is just as effective as with the established VCI active ingredient, which Excor also offers in the form of various corrosion protection solutions. ICB was initially available for aluminum and steel (type Q). Now Excor has expanded its portfolio to include the ICB film type GS, which is specially adapted to the protection of cast iron and steel.
