Copper Alloys 2022 puts the focus on sustainability

Anzeige Other topics | Created by BA

The circular economy, fossil-free energy generation and the Green Deal are important topics for the future, also for the copper industry. Therefore, these topics were also high on the agenda at Copper Alloys 2022.

The Copper Association organizes Copper Alloys every two years in cooperation with the Swedish institutes RI.SE and SWERIM. This time - after a four-year forced break due to Corona - more than 100 participants wanted to inform themselves about trends and developments in the field of copper materials.

In addition to various keynotes, which addressed copper materials as an important element in meeting the European sustainability goals, the 26 speakers from industry and academia addressed numerous application-oriented topics. Above all, aspects of material design and material characterization were the focus of many presentations, as were corrosion issues, lead-free materials or manufacturing processes. In addition, the topic of digitalization was also highlighted. A summary of the contributions is available on the website www.kupfer.de.
